Diablo 3 Wizard
One of the playable characters in the Diablo III game, the Wizard is like the Witch Doctor class wherein both of them rely on Magical attacks to deal the most damage to their enemies. Unlike the Witch Doctor, most weapons can be wielded by the Wizard; but to be able to play this class at its full power, the Wizard must use the wands and staves weapon categories.
As most spell casters, the Wizard is vulnerable to close-range combat and takes hit damage more than close range fighters. It is advised to spend more on your offensive and defensive skills and to stay far away from your enemies while engaging on fights.
Skills
The offensive skills of the Wizard relies on distorting and manipulating the energies flowing around us to conjure powerful spells to blast and kill enemies; or if its going too tough, run away by teleporting for safety.
Skill Tiers
The Wizard’s skills are grouped into 3 types: Storm, Arcane and Conjuring.
Storm
Charged Bolt
Creates small bolts of electricity that scatters on the ground, stunning and damaging nearby enemies.
Thunderstruck
It increases the percentage of which all lightning skills critically hit. Critical hits from lightning spells stun targeted attackers.
Empowered Magic
Increases the Willpower effect on damages charged from spell casting.
Lightning Speed
It increases by percentage your spell casting speed.
Storm Armor
Creates an electrical field that acts as a shield and shoots bolts at nearby attackers.
Frost Nova
Sharp chunks of ice will be hurled in all directions around the wizard. Critical Hits from this skill will freeze targets.
Deep Freeze
It increases the Critical Hit percentage of all cold spells.
Power Armor
Increases the damage done by the Storm Armor skill.
Static Charge
A percentage of damage gotten from enemies will be taken from your mana.
Electrocute
It is similar to Chain Lightning spell from Diablo II; forms a lightning bolt that shoots and travels from one enemy to another.
Ray of Frost
Shoots an ice beam at approaching enemies.
Lethal Energy
It increases the critical hit chance from melee and spell attack decked out on monsters.
Improved Charged Bolt
Increases the number of electrical bolts released from the Charged Bolt spell.
Static Residue
Opponents that have taken damaged from lightning spells will discharge bolts from their own bodies damaging nearby enemies.
Blizzard
Forms a cloud above the targeted enemies that will rain down several shards of ice on them.
Storm Power
Increases the damage of all lightning and ice spells.
Epic Storms
It increases the size of the clouds in the Blizzard spell and the number of twisters that the Wizard can create in the Tornado spell.
Shattering Ice
Spell that will make the enemies take extra damage from being frozen.
Arcane
Magic Missile
A skill that shoots down a small fast missile at your enemies.
Arcane Power
It increases by a percentage all arcane damages dealt to your targets.
Efficient Magics
It reduces mana cost spent by a certain percentage.
Penetrating Spells
It lowers the resistance of all targeted enemies to any Wizards spells casted by a certain percentage. Enemies whose resistance is in a negative will receive extra damage from this skill.
Disintegrate
A skill that will shoot a pulsing red beam of energy; acts as a laser beam of sorts.
Wave of Force
A skill where the Wizard jumps and sends a ball of energy to the ground, damaging nearby enemies.
Arcane Armor
Increases all summoned armors by a certain percentage.
Arcane Weakness
It further increases the damage of casted arcane spells over a length of period.
Arcane Speed
It lowers the time you have to wait for using arcane spells.
Arcane Orb
A skill that creates a floating orb of energy that explodes, damaging all nearby monsters.
Slow Time
It forms a time distorting circle around the Wizard which slows down projectiles aimed at you as well as oncoming attackers.
Arcane Distortion
An arcane spell that slows down approaching enemies by a certain percentage.
Mana Recovery
Increases the chance of the Wizard to get dropped mana globes that will recover his mana to the maximum.
Improved Magic Missile
Increases the damage and number of missiles dealt by the Magic Missile spell.
Temporal Armor
A skill that will surround the Wizard and acts as a shield that can stops incoming hits for a certain amount of time. This shield will also disappear when it absorbs a certain amount of damage received.
Teleport
It teleports the Wizard to a selected location of up to 100 feet away from the original location. It’s cool down time is 9 seconds.
Greater Mana
It increases the Wizard mana’s maximum capacity.
Mana Burst
A skill that increases the Wizard’s damage points when his mana is at its maximum.
Runic Might
The effect of all rune spells will increase.
Conjuring
Spectral Blade
It summons several blades out of thin air which strike nearby monsters.
Spell Speed
Increases Magic Missile’s projectile speed.
Weapon Mastery
Increases the damage points of all the Wizard’s weapons.
Damage Resistance
Increases the armor and all resistance points by a certain percentage.
Stone Skin
Rocks and bits of stones will attach to the Wizard that will act as a shield which will absorb all taken damage for a certain period.
Mirror Image
A skill that conjures up duplicates of the Wizard; ala Naruto’s Shadow jutsu.
Conjured Armor
Will summon an armor that increases the blocking chance of a Wizard.
Conjured Health
Increases the Wizard’s maximum health and the duplicates conjured in the Mirror Image spell.
Meteor Storm
A skill that rains down colorful meteorites from the sky that will turn all targeted enemies into ashes.
Acid Cloud
Another attack from above that rains down acid upon your opponents.
Conjured Power
It increases the damage amount dealt from casted spells according to your Vitality points.
Conjured Duration
Increases the length of time of Stone Skin and Acid Cloud spells. It also increases the time of your duplicates from Mirror Image spell to fight with you.
Improved Spectral Blade
A skill that increases the damage done by your Spectral Blade by a certain percentage.
Hydra
A skill taken from the previous game wherein a three-headed beast serpent will be summoned by the Wizard, which will spit fireballs at enemies giving damage.
Magic Weapon
It gives all weapons a magical energy that grants them extra damage.
Magical Impact
Increases the damage from weapons that were strengthened from your enhancing spells.
Slowing Strikes
All attacks from magical enhanced weapons such as the Spectral Blade and Magic Weapon will slow down approaching enemies and reduce their attacking speed by a certain percentage.
Armor Piercing
All weapon attacks and conjured spells by the Wizard will cause the attackers’ armor to reduce its effectiveness.
