Diablo III, Diablo 3

Twenty years after the destruction of the Worldstone by Archangel Tyrael, the world of Sanctuary hasn’t been touched by the demons of Burning Hell yet, much against its expectations. Mystified by the silence of the devils, Deckard Cain sets out on a mission to discover the rationale of this silence. As he does so, the devil that is compelled to destroy the world of Sanctuary is stirred back to life and Deckard Cain might be its very first victim. Thus begins the episode of Diablo 3.

Diablo III is the much awaited sequel to the Diablo series that has the player fight against the Lord of Terror – Diablo and vanquish it. In spite of the previous destructions that befell the devils, they have come back to life and it is up to the player to destroy the Diablo and its alliances once again and put an end to the Sanctuary’s misery. The player is to choose one from the available class of characters –

The Witch Doctor who can command the undead monsters to fight by her side against the enemies, Barbarian who is a brute-force fighter with a set of specific skills, Wizard who is the ultimate brilliant and cunning magician and Monk who is physically strong and equipped with special abilities. However, according to the various sources there is a fifth character available, identity of which has not been revealed as of yet. The player can choose the gender of these characters as well, unlike the previous releases. Each of these characters is equipped with a set of abilities and established spells that can be utilized to fight the demons.

The setting of this game is in the dark and mysterious world of Sanctuary itself. However, the player explores fresh hidden places such as Arreat Crater, Xiansai while also visiting a few of other recognized places such as Tristram, Caldeum and Ureh. The game will have four acts; length of each act is relatively equal to the length of the acts in the predecessors of Diablo III. The game will necessitate the hero to complete character specific quests apart from conquering the main storyline quests. The very first quest of Diablo III could possibly be the rescue of Deckard Cain from the clutches of demon.

The items assisting the player in each quest have undergone a considerable change with respect to their qualities and functionalities. Armors such as helmet, gloves, boots, body armor, belts, are present in Diablo III along with pants and pauldrons which are new to the game of Diablo. Elixirs are seen in Diablo 3 and are assumed to serve the same purpose as they did in Diablo I. Runes are a part of Diablo III as well which give bonuses to skills, unlike Diablo II in which bonuses to items was provided by Runes. Gems appear in Diablo III but their functionalities are not yet revealed. Also miscellaneous items such as Scroll of Identity, Minor Health Potion, Scroll of Town Portal, Small bag and Scroll of Superior Protection have been included in Diablo III to make the games more interesting and engaging.

As the rule of the game goes, the player chooses one character from the available five characters and begins to fight the evil. The destruction of Diablo – Lord of Terror signifies the end of the game and probably the story line that was started in Diablo I. But it has been assured that the game of Diablo in itself will continue down the lane.
